Why Subscribe?

If my work isn’t published on Substack why subscribe?

Not everyone has a Medium account, or whatever other platform I might end up using in the future.

My Substack is simply a place where people can subscribe by email to my online activity in one place, similar to a link tree. While I currently don’t have a personal website setup, I will in the future and posting to multiple blogs creates SEO issues.

Usually you would want your cross posts to have something called a canonical link set pointing back to the primary website you want people to find. Substack unfortunately doesn’t let you set a canonical link while Medium does. You can read a more detailed description of what this is all about from this Substack author:
